# Licensing

> How the coOrgChart trial, licence keys, renewals and plan changes work.

## Free trial

Every Microsoft 365 tenant can use coOrgChart free for **30 days**, with all features. The trial starts the first time
coOrgChart is shown in your tenant. You don’t need to register or enter a credit card. During the trial, people who can
edit the site see how many days are left; other visitors see nothing.

## Buying a licence

Choose a plan on the [pricing page](https://orgchart.compleo.ch/en/pricing/) and click **Buy now**. You pay on the checkout page of our reseller
Creem (merchant of record). Plans are based on the number of employees in your chart; viewers are unlimited.

Right after the payment you receive your **licence key** by email, together with the invoice. The key is also shown in
Creem's customer portal, which is linked in that email.

## Entering the licence key

1. Edit a page with coOrgChart and open the web part settings.
2. In the **Licence** section, paste the key into **Licence key** and click **Activate**.

The key applies to your whole tenant: all pages and Teams tabs with coOrgChart are licensed at once. It isn't saved on
the page, so you don't need to publish it. A key works in one tenant; to move it to another one, write to support.

## When the trial or licence ends

coOrgChart keeps working, and your pages and settings stay untouched. Instead, it shows notices:

- People who can edit the site see a notice with a link to the plans.
- Other visitors first see a short note; after 14 days, a banner asks them to contact the intranet team.

The notices disappear as soon as a valid licence key is entered or the subscription is renewed.

## More people than the plan covers

The plan counts the people coOrgChart shows after the common filters, with a tolerance of 10%. If there are more,
people who can edit the site see a notice right away, everyone else after 30 days. Nobody is removed from the chart;
switch to a larger plan in the customer portal.

## Renewal, plan changes and cancellation

- Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly.
- You can switch plans, update your payment details or cancel in the customer portal linked in your purchase email.
- After a cancellation, coOrgChart keeps working until the end of the paid period. Afterwards it shows a notice asking
  you to renew; your pages and settings stay untouched.
